Act 1 is Out and Playable!

After a lot of late nights, rewrites, debugging, and staring at the same three lines of code wondering why the text won’t center, Act 1 of DRIFT is finally live and playable.
This release covers the full first chapter of the story, introducing the major characters and the early choices that will shape how everything unfolds later. It’s also about four times longer than the prototype demo, with more scenes, more branching, and a much deeper dive (pun intended) into the emotional and narrative core of the game.
🦈 Play it right now in your browser on the main project page.
A Quick Disclaimer: This current build does not yet include any sound. This is not a glitch with your browser; there is no music, no ambient noise, and no audio cues—yet. I was racing against a deadline to have this demo ready to go by Anthrocon, and ultimately had to pick between bug fixing/polishing or getting the audio systems fully integrated in time. I chose bug fixing to make sure the game worked reliably for everyone. Audio will be added in a future update to the demo shortly after Anthrocon.
Let me know what worked for you, what didn’t, or if you got emotionally attached to a shark way faster than you expected.
